As part of "Throwback Thursday" I thought id share some of my favorite pictures from my trip to my hometown.
I was born in Santiago de Cuba, Cuba and moved to the United States when i was five years old. Although it is frowned
upon, my mother would constantly enroll herself in what i like to call the "Cuban lottery" and one day she won!
Being a communist country, the cuban lottery didn't involve any sort of money, its main prize involved government
permission to be able to leave the country. It wasn't a simple process but after all the obstacles, we packed our
bags and moved to Florida. Although Cuba is a beautiful country, the people in it live in poverty. The only advice
I would give anyone who is planning on ever visiting, is to purchase things directly from the people instead of
government established stores (ex. supermarkets, gas stations, etc.). There is no such thing as "private poverty"
and any money spent within stores goes directly to the government who oppresses its people. The person who you see
selling tomatoes in the corner of the street is probably struggling to get by. Anyways, hope you enjoy some pictures
from one of my favorite memories.

Wow love it!!!! Looks so nice :)
